Have you ever been on a journey that quietly changed your life?
My name is Manizha Yassenzai, and I am one of the participants in a student exchange program. When I was selected for this program, I felt that I was starting a new and important journey in my life, a journey that was not only educational but also a personal experience of growth and discovery.
My trip began in Mexico, where I spent six weeks in a colorful and lively environment. In the classroom, I gradually became familiar with the Spanish language. Sometimes I made mistakes, but those mistakes helped me learn more and feel more confident. My new friends and teachers always encouraged me. During cultural activities, I listened to mariachi music and watched the “Jarabe Tapatío” dance, which was full of energy and emotion. Every time I tasted tacos, I felt as if I were discovering a new flavor of life and getting closer to the culture of the people.
After that, my journey continued to Brazil. This time I faced the Portuguese language. At first, it was difficult for me, but step by step, the words became easier and more familiar. The cities were full of music and samba dancing, and the people lived with joy and warm smiles. I tried the traditional food, feijoada, and in the public square, I saw many young people playing football. Sometimes I joined them, and I felt like I was becoming part of their daily lives.
This program was not only a student trip for me; it was an opportunity to make new friends, learn new languages, build my self-confidence, and understand the world in a deeper way. I learned that every culture has its own beauty and valuable lessons. When I returned home, I felt that I carried a story inside me—a story about education, culture, friendship, and real-life experiences that changed my personality and perspective on the world. This journey provided me with greater motivation and brighter hope for my future.
This journey has become a special part of my life and has helped me grow, learn, and believe in myself. I truly appreciate everyone who has supported me and shared this moment with me. Because of this program, I can now see the world with new eyes, respect the differences, and build my future through understanding and love.
