The Day Dallas Stood Still: The Mystery of JFK’s Assassination

Can a single moment change the history of a whole country forever? For the U.S., it can, and it did. The youngest elected president of the U.S., John F. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917. He was also a symbol of hope for the American people and a global icon. However, November 22, 1963 was an unforgettable day. Kennedy was in Dallas with his wife. Everyone was cheering for him until something horrific happened. Suddenly, gunshots were heard. I will examine the official reports and the mysterious theories behind this tragic event.

The president was in front of Dealey Plaza at 12:30 PM that day. According to the police, the shots came from the Texas School Book Depository building. Officers found a Carcano rifle on the 6th floor of this building. After the investigation, the police arrested Lee Harvey Oswald. Later, the Warren Commission released a report about the assassination. They said Oswald was a ‘Lone Gunman.’ This means he planned the attack and fired three shots alone.

However, there is a big problem with this official story: The Magic Bullet Theory. According to the report, a single bullet caused seven wounds on two men. It hit Kennedy and then Governor Connally. To do this, the bullet followed a crazy zig-zag path in the air. Also, when the police found the bullet, it was clean. This is impossible for many people. Because of these questions, there are many different theories. For example, some people suspect the CIA or the Mafia because they had problems with Kennedy. Others think Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson planned the assassination because he wanted to be the President. Finally, many believe there was a second shooter on the Grassy Knoll.

To conclude, the assassination of John F. Kennedy is still a sad memory for America. As I said, the official reports and the physical evidence do not match. Although the case is officially closed, we still have many questions. We may never know the full truth about that day, but one thing is clear:
