Two Legendary Anime Series that have Kept Their Audience Over the Years

Hello fellow saiyajins and crew members! In this post, I will introduce you with two legends which have stolen our hearts for a veeery long time (to be honest, veeeery long time 😅). I hope you like my post, have fun ^^

1. Dragon Ball (1995-2003)

1. Chiaotzu, Yamcha, Kulilin, Tenshinhan, Goku, Gohan and Piccolo from Dragon Ball

The first anime I want to talk about is Dragon Ball, which has a world-renowned fame and has been continuing for 40 years although it ended in 2003! Dragon Ball, which started as manga series, is created and drawn by Akira Toriyama. He was inspired by one of the Four Great Classical Novels of China, ‘’The Journey to The West’’. With Toriyama Sensei, Dragon Ball is embraced as the ancestor of shounen-type animes because Akira Toriyama inspired many other writers who came after him, with his style and creativity. You can see this inspiration when you watch other animes.

As for the topic of the anime, the events in the story take place around the protagonist, Son Goku, and Dragon Ball is about Son Goku’s adventures. Throughout the series, Son Goku’s life is reflected from his childhood to his adulthood as he trains in martial arts and discovers the world while looking for the Dragon Balls, which have the power to fulfill any wish.

2. One Piece (1999- …)

2. Sanji, Nami, Luffy, Zoro and Usopp from One Piece

The other one is One Piece. It is created and drawn by Oda Eichiro, also it has been continuing for more than 20 years. The story is about the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate who gained the power of a rubber body after eating a Devil Fruit by accident. After gaining such a power, Luffy starts to seek the world’s greatest treasure, One Piece, which was left behind by Gold Roger, who was the former legendary Pirate King as he wants to become the next King of the Pirates. Since the start of his journey with his ship Going Merry, Luffy meets other characters with strange powers, too who will later join his crew, named the Straw Hat Pirates. The thing I like most about the anime is that it is quite successful in terms of connecting the past and present of the characters, and it makes you realise how one’s childhood memories and values can affect the character development of a person thanks to the flashbacks placed in patches within the plot.

All things considered, I have tried to explain the amazing world of those two legendary animes as much as I can. If you happen to watch either of them, I bet you will never regret seeing the adventures of Goku who wants to meet powerful fighters to improve himself and runs across many different friends or enemies all around the universe. I am sure you will also like the Straw Hat Pirates who travel all around the world with their crazy captain whose greatest desire is to capture the world’s biggest treasure, One Piece, to eventually become the King of the Pirates!

Thank you for reading my post. See you in my next post!
